What happens at a treatment?
A traditional Japanese Massage session takes place on a comfortable futon at floor level, although the treatment may be given in a chair if you are unable to lie down.
Received through loose comfortable clothing (cotton tracksuit bottoms, leggings or similar), and sometimes soft blankets, a treatment takes about an hour. Extra time will be needed on the first visit so that a detailed case history can be taken.
Following the treatment simple recommendations may be made on gentle exercises, changes to lifestyle or dietary patterns to support health and well being. As Japanese Massage is working on the subtle energy levels, you may feel more sensitive or aware to any changes in body or mind after a treatment. It is recommended to allow for a slower pace, some quiet time or time in nature to reflect and fully benefit from the session.
